Community Resources*
In our travels we meet a variety of businesses like ourselves, with passionate leaders/founders, who primarily or solely serve the lesbian community. We do all we can to grow positive, mutual referral relationships with as many of them as we can so YOUR needs are more closely met and you don't have to go through the frustrations or lack of positive affirmation common when lesbians seek help in today's world.
You won't find any listings here where we only know the name of the organization or it's leader. We only list those we've established a positive working relationship with, to date. To let you know who they are, we've listed some of them below. We don't accept money or charge advertising fees for these listings.
In particular, we like to tell you about businesses - regardless of size - that provide a personal touch, like we do. If you are a business with a positive track record of working with us and, you'd like to be included in our listing, contact Barb Elgin to explore the possibilities!
- Get Steady - Founded by Michael Zuyus, based in New York City, GetSteady.com is one of the only gay dating sites mandating verified photo authenticity of all active members. The website serves the serious-minded gay, lesbian, bisexual, transsexual and transgender community throughout the United States.
- Les Connections - Led by Linda Thomas, a woman with a big heart. Les Connections currently offers a great newsletter, a business listing, and the site serves as a national events listing for the lesbian community. Free submission of your events (I love this feature - be sure to help it grow so singles and couples can find events to their liking!).
- LegalOUT - Lindalisa Severo has created a resource for the legal needs of GLBT's, no matter where we are on love's journey. Whether you need to find an attorney, get educated on a legal issue, want to find a community resource or create a legal document, be sure you check out her site.
- 10,000 Couples - Delena Wilkerson founded 10,000 couples with a simple vision: 'putting a face' on same sex couples so the world can see how many of us there really are. The site is also chock full of resources for couples and about gay marriage and relationships.
*Your decision to use any of resources offered to you on this page signifies you are in agreement with our terms of use policies. If you have a concern about your experience with a site or service listed here, please contact Barb Elgin.
